SSE Enterprise Telecoms recently
announced phase two of its network
expansion plan, Project Edge.
Dubbed ‘Edge 2’, the latest initiative
will add a further 33 BT exchanges to its
existing 13,700km, 232 Points of Presence
(PoP) UK-wide fibre network from Q2
2016. The deployment will add 50,000
prime UK city centre business postcodes to
the 200,000 introduced during phase one
of Project Edge. SSE Enterprise Telecoms
will be available to discuss the benefits of
Edge 2 – alongside its other data services
– at Cloud Expo Europe (on stand 432).
Alongside this, it’ll be demonstrating how
its online price comparison tool, LiveQuote,
ensures its customers get the best possible
deal on their Ethernet orders.

Cloud Expo Europe stand 242
With 100G bandwidth speeds fast
becoming the norm, Sorrento Networks
– located on stand 242 – will be demoing
the latest addition to its GigaMux product
range; the GigaMux 3300.
This new technology offers service
providers an easy, cost effective way to
achieve 100G speeds. In addition, John
Mitchell, director of product management
at Sorrento Networks, will be holding a
speaking session on ‘Maximising optical
networking for data centre interconnect
in an open SDN environment’ at
14:55-15:20 on Day 1 in the DCIM/
SDN Theatre. In this session, Mitchell
will discuss which of the latest optical
networking technologies best maximise
current fibre plant utilisation, how SDN
integrates the management of optical
and data networking equipment into a
single entity, and the game changing
impact open architectures have on SDN
ecosystem environments.

Dimension Data
Cloud Expo Europe stand 980
Dimension Data is helping accelerate
visitors’ digital ambitions at this year’s Cloud
Expo. Dimension Data will be on stand 980
demonstrating how data was collected,
managed, analysed and distributed during a
stage of last year’s Tour de France. A Watt
bike competition will be on the stand as
well, challenging people to compete against
the world’s best cyclists to win signed Tour
de France team shirts. Dimension Data
executives will be leading various speaking
sessions, including a keynote speech from
Adam Foster, group executive – Sports
Practice and Julien Goupil, media
director at Amaury Sport Organisation
(ASO) on how Dimension Data helped
them digitally transform the Tour de
