This walking tour will focus on the story of the relationship between people and the river. We’ll begin at Kellogg Mall Park to enjoy the unique bluff views, then walk along the Wabasha Bridge and descend to the water’s edge at Raspberry Island Regional Park. Along the way, you’ll learn the secrets and stories of thousands of years in this place. This tour does involve walking down stairs from the Wabasha Bridge to Raspberry Island Regional Park. Register by Sept. 28. Meet tour leader Joan Mathison at 10:00 am at the fountain in Kellogg Mall Park. There is street parking, the Capitol City Ramp across the street, or you can park on Raspberry Island where the tour will end. Enjoy a guided tour and discover the history of this splendid mansion which will be dressed in Victorian style for the holiday season. The 15-room house stands a rare monument of unaltered Civil War-era Gothic Revival architecture and features a picturesque tower, a limestone exterior with 20-inch-thick walls, a prominent front porch, 10 ireplaces and a third- loor chapel with a white pine interior. Please note, there is not an elevator in the home. Fee includes transportation, high tea and guided tour of the mansion.
