Program Mission To enhance the quality of life of adults by promoting , sponsoring and coordinating programs and services that advocate for independence and well-being .
Volunteer Appreciation
Volunteers are one of District 622 ’ s greatest resources . The hands and hearts of volunteers :
• Deliver meals and provide a wellness check for the Meals on Wheels program
• Assist in the adaptive swimming program
• Help classroom teachers individualize instruction for students
• Assist with homework
• Chaperone school field trips , dances and special events
• Assist adults learning the English language
• Sanitize coolers used for meal delivery
• Answer phones and file papers
• Work in the community gardens
• Assist in customized classes for adults with disabilities
• Work with students on their reading and math skills
• Supervise in the lunchroom and on the play ground
• Serve on advisory and planning committees
• Organize and plan activities for older adults at Gladstone
• Test vision and hearing for Early Childhood screening
• And so much more . . .
