Hello, Maciej! Thank you for taking the time to answer a few questions from Dastaan World Magazine. Could you please tell us a bit about what you’re working on right now and your plans for the immediate future?

Hi! In past few years I’ve been primarily focused on film industry. However, I latch on other projects as well, with clients like Nike, Magic Leap and Impact Theory. I’m also co-managing an online school I’ve founded together with my friends. It is called Learn Squared.

You started your journey as an artist in Poland. What inspired you to get into art? Did you start with traditional media or digital?

I always liked sketching. Ever since I was a kid, I would draw over the pictures in school books. Or I would use the last pages of notebooks as my personal sketch pads. My journey with digital art, however, started when I stumbled upon works of Tomek Baginski and Platige Image in 2003. I realized that digital arts and CG are real industries where you can work as an artist.

What are the similarities and differences when it comes to being an artist in Poland as compared to the United States?

There are no differences. The job is the same, no matter where you live. What changes is availability and variety of projects. Being in the US, specifically in Los Angeles, opens up more doors to work on a greater variety of projects.
