Chasing the Dragon T he fourth SCCA Chasing the Dragon Hillclimb is being held June 22-23 in Robbinsville, NC on a closed course road in the Joyce Kilmer National Park. More than 70 cars will be competing for trophies, cash prizes and championship points as part of the Sports Car Club of America - Southeast Division Time Trial Series. This event allows competition licensed drivers in prepared sports cars to race one at a time up a 2.4 mile mountain road for fastest time in class competition. The course is located just off Santeetlah Road at the Maple Gap Observation Deck near beautiful Robbinsville, NC in Graham County. There is no admission for spectators and shuttle buses carry racing fans from the parking lot to each of the family friendly viewing areas. Food, souvenirs, grandstand seating and restrooms are all available on site. Cars will be racing on Saturday and Sunday from 9AM to 3PM but course will be closed on Sunday at 11:00AM for a quiet hour and church service. Trophies and cash prizes will be awards Sunday at 4:00PM. Kids will receive prizes and many will get cowbells to ring to make the drivers go faster on course.
