PARK REVIEW BIG4 Macdonnell Range Holiday Park, Alice Springs You’ve never heard excitement quite like the squeels of delight from the kids in the backseat as you turn a corner to see a huge waterslide at your next overnight stop! This was the view (and sound!) that greeted us as we rounded the corner and entered the BIG4 Macdonnell Range Holiday Park, Alice Springs. It’d been a long day on the road in the Red Centre of Australia and the kids were ready to get wet ‘n wild! Leaving the super-friendly reception staff behind us, we unhooked the van and did a little exploring. On our travels, we met park owner, Brendan, who, with his family, have spent 32 years infusing their passion for the industry into their park, and it shows! Just walking the grounds you can feel the genuine care everyone who works at the park feels and that welcome is felt by all who visit. The weather was cool in Alice Spring so elation soon turned to trepidation as we wondered how we were going to tell the kids they could ‘look but not touch’ the huge waterslide in their sights. Well, turns out we didn’t have to..... the water was heated! These park owners just made it to my christmas card list. #legends Facilities at the park are second to none. We could have stayed for longer than our six days and still not see or do it all. Immaculate bathroom facilities are always high on my list of priorities and I was not disappointed! As well, there was a laundry, onsite fuel, a large grocery shop, and a plethora of tourist and touring information - everything you could possibly need when you’re on the road. And if you are there on a Su nday, you can enjoy the FREE pancake breakfast. Life doesn’t get much better than that! Now that we’d avoided having to talk the kids off the edge, our next task was to settle in and find out what this huge holiday park had to offer. E READ TH W E I V E R L L FU page PARK REVIEW 20
