Basic Dog Obedience

This class is designed to teach you the concepts and supply you with the tools you need to take your companionship with your canine to the next level. This is a VERY hands on course. All that is needed are warm clothes, a leash, and the desire and commitment to giving your dog the time and energy they need to live a healthy, balanced life. Our classroom will be our backyards, taking us anywhere from fields or parks, to our public lands closeby. The first class will meet in the field behind the Lander Pool 450 S. 9th St.

Instruction includes but not limited to:

Mastering the walk (i.e. you walk them, not them pulling you) and basic commands: sit, down, stay, heel,

come, setting boundaries and establishing rules.

Inventor's Workshop

Calling all inventors! If you are in the process of pondering, prototyping, or patenting an invention, or are just curious what it takes to fully develop a product and bring it to market, this class session is for you. Hear from Lauren Heerschap about how she invented the most significant advance in geologic compass in over a century and negotiated a licensing agreement with Brunton to bring it to market. She will share what she’s learned from the ongoing patenting process, the licensing process, and the business aspects of marketing and negotiating. Then you will get a chance to discuss your own invention stories and challenges. Only share what you are comfortable sharing if your ideas are not yet patented, and recognize that this is meant to be a chance to learn from each other’s stories.
