A Study of the US

Constitution: Becoming

an Informed Citizen

Become more skillful and adept in your thoughts and comments on our country’s supreme law. Perry Marple will lead a six-week course on the U.S. Constitution. The aim of this class is to simply get acquainted or reacquainted with the noble document itself and do so in a way that is not superficial. Hopefully, a foundation will be established that enables you to pursue greater knowledge through self study and initiative. You will be provided with a copy of the US Constitution which will be used throughout the course. Please join Perry for this informative and timely topic.

Can Science and Religion Coexist?

Are science and religion contradictory ways of understanding the world? Must there be conflict, or can the two be complementary? This course highlights some key historical conflicts between science and religion as well as some current controversies. It will also explore a few examples where harmony, rather than conflict, has been found between science and religion. To get the most out of this course, arrive with an open mind, be ready for reading assignments each week, participate in discussions, and help foster a friendly group dynamic.

Guided by Lauren Heerschap, who has degrees in geology as well as theology and enjoys exploring controversial topics.
