CURRICULUM GUIDE 2018-2019 ! 203 Paired with 203 Jesus Christ’s Mission Continues in The Church THEOLOGY II: JESUS CHRIST’S MISSION CONTINUES IN THE CHURCH 0.5 credit This one-semester course is a one semester course that follows The Mission of Jesus Christ. This course will help the student understand that in and through the Church they encounter the living Jesus Christ. The student will be introduced to the fact that the Church was founded by Christ through the Apostles and is sustained by Him through the Holy Spirit. The student will come to know that the Church is the living Body of Christ today. This Body has both divine and human elements. The students will learn not so much about events in the life of the Church, but about the sacred nature of the Church. ! 302 Paired with 202 The Mission of Jesus Christ (The Paschal Mystery) THEOLOGY III: LIFE IN JESUS CHRIST 0.5 credit This course is intended to help the student understand the essential message of Christ’s moral teaching and the importance of love of God and love of neighbor. Conscience formation and an understanding of the Commandments will assist the students in their ability to make good moral decisions in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ. ! 303 Paired with 303 Meeting Jesus in the Sacraments THEOLOGY III: MEETING JESUS IN THE SACRAMENTS 0.5 credit This one-semester course is designed to assist students in their understanding of the Seven Sacraments as an important way to encounter Jesus Christ as present to the Church and world today. Greater understanding of each of the Sacraments will help students understand that fuller sacramental participation, with the accompanying benefits of grace, will draw them into closer communion with God and neighbors. ! 402 Paired with 302 Life in Jesus Christ RELIGIONS OF THE WORLD 0.5 credit In this one-semester course, students will be exposed to the major religions of the world in order to instill respect for the belief systems of others in a multicultural world.
