Hello everyone and welcome to the Government Affairs edition of Current Pedorthics. As it turns out, this has become somewhat of a retail edition, also. Several good articles on retail and inventory were submitted, happily by pedorthists, and so Rob and I felt that we should get them into print right away for you to enjoy. The 57th Annual Symposium will be about to occur when this reaches most of you. We included links to some handy materials for you such as a venue map and the program and course descriptions. You will also notice that we included the booth number on the ad of every advertiser that is also showing at the Symposium. Rob and I look forward to seeing all of you there. If you are reading this after you return, we hope you had a great time and that we got to chat with you a bit. Don’t miss out on the latest announcements and current topics we’re discussing on social media 24/7. This is a time of change for PFA. With sadness I say that this is the last issue of CP that I will have the honor of co-editing with Rob. I will be editing on my own from now on. I can't begin to express my gratitude to Rob for helping me get prepared to take on this responsibility. Rob oversaw the conversion of CP from a simple print publication to this online format which is ripe with opportunities for advertisers to utilize sound, video and interactivity. These are just not possible in the world of print and I am looking forward to the day when our advertisers really embrace this and wow you with amazing content in their ads. The largest change that the Symposium brings is that this is the time each year that marks the end of the terms for the Board of Directors. Special thanks to Ben Nebroski as he departs from the Board. This also marks the end of Rob's term as president. His presidency has been far more trying than most were. He inherited an organization in dire straights and through his leadership, tenacity and fight, brought it back. This was done with the assistance of a truly committed group of individuals that comprises the PFA Board of Directors. We all owe them a huge debt of gratitude as they continue to operate PFA as volunteer staff. Please enjoy this issue of CP. As always, I look forward to your suggestions and contributions! We all have something we do differently or an idea that varies from, or expands upon, that of our peers. Share yours!
