More and more pedorthists
are entering the retail game,
providing goods and services
direct to the consumer. For
many this tactic is to help
diversify their business that
otherwise is fully dependent on
referrals. However, just deciding
to enter retail doesn’t mean
you’ll be successful at it. It is
estimated that two-thirds of
the U.S. gross domestic product
comes from retail consumption.
While the market is huge, there
are many substantial challenges
business owners face. In 2015
there have been a significant
number of store closings and
bankruptcies which indicate
shifting consumer preferences
