This is just one comparison that
illustrates the similarities and challenges
that we all face. It is good to read the
publications within our industry, however
reading a broader range of publications
may give a different perspective, and
allow one to draw from the experiences
of others that may have applications to
the pedorthic model. It will then become
obvious that we can learn from other’s
challenges and successes, and at the same
time take comfort in the fact that, we are
not alone.

issue, get to know the doctors in your
area (General Practitioners, orthopedists,
pediatricians, and podiatrists), let them get
to know you, and build those relationships
that will help ease the prescription
process. Do not discount the podiatrists
in your area. There were several podiatric
groups in my area that were my biggest
referral sources. Sure, some will never
accept your existence, and wish for your
demise, but the ones that understand
the benefits of the podiatrist/pedorthist
relationship can be invaluable.
