Marketing is also necessary for your referring practitioners. In order to work with the prescription issue, get to know the doctors in your area (General Practitioners, orthopedists, pediatricians, and podiatrists), let them get to know you, and build those relationships that will help ease the prescription process. Do not discount the podiatrists in your area. There were several podiatric groups in my area that were my biggest referral sources. Sure, some will never accept your existence, and wish for your demise, but the ones that understand the benefits of the podiatrist/pedorthist relationship can be invaluable.
