ABOUT PFA
The Pedorthic Footcare Association ( PFA ), founded in 1958 , is the not-forprofit professional association which represents the interests of the certified and / or licensed pedorthist and supports the pedorthic profession at large .
TRANSITIONS
Hello everyone and welcome to my first Presidents Message . I am honored to be able to continue to serve with this very dedicated group of individuals in this new capacity . Change is the only constant and each year the Symposium marks the transition of the PFA Board .
This year was significant with the end of the two-year cycle that the Executive Committee rotates on . Rob Sobel is now our Immediate Past President , Matt Almeida is Vice President , and longtime Board members Jeremy Long and Tammy Daulton take on the responsibilities of Treasurer and Secretary respectively . Dean Mason continues his service as Executive Committee Member Emeritus . It is a wonderful thing to know that you are working with a group of individuals who are as capable , dedicated and willing to roll up their sleeves and work hard as these folks are . We have weathered much together and will continue to meet the challenges that face pedorthics and PFA through teamwork .
The Board of Directors added several members as well . Jamie Dick and Lou Iannuzzi return to the Board , Tanya

Through PFA ’ s efforts , pedorthics – the management and treatment of conditions of the foot , ankle , and lower extremities requiring fitting , fabricating , and adjusting of pedorthic devices – is a well-established allied health profession which makes an invaluable contribution to public health .
MISSION
PFA ’ s mission is to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of credentialed providers of lower extremity pedorthic modalities through education ; increase the demand for services through marketing ; and promote the right to practice through government affairs activities .
