PFA Symposium Recap

For any of you who are new to the scene or happened
PFA President Alan Darby gave a very interesting lecture
to sleep through the last issue of Current Pedorthics
about the way pedorthists can play a role in the rising
Magazine , PFA held the 57th Annual Symposium and
epidemic of prescription drug abuse . The PFA Board of
Exhibition on November 2nd through 4th in Atlanta ,
Directors was well represented with presentations from
Georgia . The show was extremely successful with 315

There was also plenty to do just around the corner from the hotel with a mall and many restaurants within a few minutes walk .
As always , there was a full slate of top notch speakers covering a wide variety of subjects . PFA ' s Medical Advisor , Dr . Jim McGuire , gave us a look at the pedorthic implications of various forefoot amputations and another lecture on various offloading strategies for foot ulcers . Our friend and Past PFA President Dane LaFontsee shared his experience with marketing , selling and transitioning out of a practice . We had the esteemed Dr . Paul Langer speaking about addressing various foot problems associated with age related changes in our patient ' s feet . There were sports related presentations , business sessions , updates on current government related issues , an interesting discussion of legal and tax strategies as your business matures and several sessions highlighting research that you can put to work in your practice immediately . with an in-depth look at foot assessment by Pam Haig , one of our longest working and most prolific pedorthic educators .
PFA is very excited to announce that the 58th annual Symposium and Exhibition will be held at the TPC Sawgrass golf resort in Ponte Vedre Beach Florida from November 2nd through 4th .
