Sustainable Living Festival
Free admission. Family friendly. Hands-on learning.
LES’ signature summer event is free, family-friendly
and full of learning opportunities! It’s a chance for LES
to team up with community partners and demonstrate
simple tips for saving energy and leading more
environmentally friendly lives while having a ton of fun.
Along with getting a sneak peek at LES' recent
collaboration with The Career Academy, the new
educational, interactive tiny house, you and your family
will discover tons to see and learn.

Get an up-close look at electric vehicles, including
the Chevy Bolt, Nissan Leaf and Teslas.
Snack on solar-popped popcorn.
Cycle through the latest and greatest in Lincoln’s bike
system including BikeLNK, the city’s new bike-share
program.
Understand the science behind composting, from
organic home waste to worms.
Find out how LES uses the sun and wind to power
Lincoln.
Learn with the folks from Lincoln City Libraries.
Kids will also be able to participate in the Little
Lineworkers Rodeo, a spin on what the LES’ Lineworkers
do every day. They’ll put on a hardhat, rubber gloves and
safety glasses, change out insulators and sort cables
— all while being timed so they can race to beat their
personal bests. Your Little Lineworker dressed-up in their
kid-sized personal protective equipment makes for a
great photo opportunity!
