Campus Security Authority An employee whose position/title is designated a Campus Security Authority, must report a Clery-reportable offense to the Department of Public Safety for inclusion in the College’s Annual Security Report. If you observe a crime on campus grounds or buildings, in the residence hall, or any facility used by the College or, in the area adjacent to the campus first, make sure you are safe then call the Public Safety 24-hour Central Communication Station at [phone] or 911 to report the incident. If an employee, student, or visitor tells you that he/she learned of or was the victim of, perpetrator of, or witness to any crime that falls within the categories listed above, report it to the Department of Public Safety.4 During the fall semester, Public Safety sends a letter to all Campus Security Authorities along with a reporting form. If you are an official of the college who has significant responsibility for student and campus activities, including, but not limited to public safety, student affairs, student activities, student discipline and campus judicial proceedings and you have the authority and the duty to take action or respond to particular issues on behalf of the college you are a Campus Security Authority. CSAs include, but are not limited to, administrators, directors, deans, department heads, chairpersons, advisors to students/ student organizations, athletic coaches.
