happenings WINTER 2018-2019 Christmas in Cullman Parade & Tree Lighting Depot Park and downtown Cullman’s Entertainment District will be the setting for the kickoff to the Christmas season with the annual parade and tree-lighting ceremony Nov. 30. The parade begins at 6 p.m. with local merchants and organizations displaying a wide array of floats for the procession. Look for an early visit from Santa for the kids and live entertainment. The tree-lighting follows just after the parade at Depot Park. Cullman County Christmas Parade The Cullman County Christmas Parade in Hanceville will begin at noon, Dec. 1 in downtown. Holly Market Christmas Arts & Crafts Show A collection of some of the region’s best arts and crafts can be found Nov. 30-Dec.1 at the annual Holly Markets Christmas Arts & Crafts Show. Times are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 30, and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Cullman Civic Center. The event is free to attend, but offers a wide selection of items for purchase. Cullman Regional Foundation’s Lights of Love Program is set for Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the Colonel Cullmann room. The program honors individuals in the community and raises funds for local medical care. 6 Cullman magazine | WINTER 2018 Polar Bear Plunge When the weather turns cold, a group of sturdy folks will take the Polar Bear Plunge on Jan. 5 at the Cullman Wellness & Aquatic Center at 10:30 a.m. Participants have a chance to win a 12-month family membership at the Wellness & Aquatic Center.
