EvaBank Midnight Run 5K One of the region’s favorite late-night events — the EvaBank Midnight Run returns Aug. 2. The 5K starts at the Cullman Civic Center at 11:59 p.m. The cost is $25. Runners will be chip-timed, and awards will be given out to overall winners and age bracket winners. A pre-race and post-race black light party will take place in front of the Cullman Civic Center, and all runners will receive a t-shirt and post-race food.
 Concerts in the Park
 Every Thursday in September will bring a variety of bands to the stage at Recognition Garden in Heritage Park. Showtimes are 6-8 p.m. and there is no costs to attend. A variety of bands will be playing during our free concert series each Thursday night in September.
 Sweet Tater Festival Smith Lake Park will host the 23rd Annual Sweet Tater Festival on Sept. 1, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sept. 2, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Live music, food vendors, arts and crafts, a car show, and sweet taters are all on tap for both days. Admission is $5 per person and an armband is good for both days of the event.
