HAVE A FAMILY ADVENTURE AT LONE TREE Along with its mission to serve children and young adults, the Spirit of Adventure Council also serves families. In the development of the council’s strategic vision emphasis is placed on assuring that the needs of today’s families are at the forefront. Programs and facilities are being developed to support the entire family- boys and girls, young and old. Lone Tree Scout Reservation along with New England Base Camp are the outdoors recreational facilities that are being developed to provide quality family adventures. There are 20,000 families in the Council that can benefit from these resources. As a member of Scouting, your family has two “get-a-way” locations for family weekend fun. This spring and summer Lone Tree Scout Reservation has four family weekend adventures planned. Lone Tree is 120 acres of woodland forest on the shores of Country Pond in Kingston NH. It is just over the New Hampshire border and easily accessible from Routes 495 and 93. Lone Tree is open for Scouts and families to enjoy all the camp has to offer. The reservation invites all to bring a tent and pack a picnic lunch for Saturday. The camp provides dinner on Saturday evening as well as a simple breakfast Sunday morning. The programs at Lone Tree are extensive and varied depending on your interest: BBs, archery, the Challenge Course, Nature Lodge, Scoutcraft, Handicraft, Athletics Games, Fishing, and Boating. There are also camping and cooking skills demonstrations and a traditional Scout Campfire at night. The programs are open Saturday through Sunday mornings.
