Randy Burns – Tennessee Painting since the age of 5, Randy continues his passion for painting. Having exhibited throughout the state of Tennessee and other areas of the mid-south, he has also displayed work in California and Puebla, Mexico. Passionate about nature and the mysteries of life, Randy incorporates various themes within his selection of paintings. Included in his website are nearly 400 pieces of artwork. They range from, imaginary landscapes, México memories, sock monkey ‘masterpieces’ and botanicals. Recently finishing two exhibitions: Memphis Botanic Gardens and Dyersburg State Community College, he will be showing his work in Winters, California just north of Sacramento this coming March. It is called The Glass Slippers. Within the various themes of my art, fantasy plays a major role in its development. From memory, pieces like the 'The Glass Slippers' appear to me completed in my mind's eye. Clouds and moonlight are an essential part in all of my fantasy landscapes. Toning the canvas prior to the initial painting gives the sky a luminous quality and a glow, which adds to the depth and intrigue of the setting. 75
