DAVID PASTORE - MAN ON A MISSION

HE PASTORE FAMILY of
Greenwich has been a familiar
presence within the Connecticut
golf scene for several years, thanks to the
tournament accomplishments of brothers
David, Stephen and Paul. All have impressive
resumes, but in 2014 David, the oldest of the
three, emerged as one of the top amateur
golfers in the entire country.
Before graduating from the
University of Virginia in May, Pastore was
a mainstay in a Cavalier lineup ranked in the
nation’s top-20. In April he won the Jim West
Intercollegiate with a school record setting
54-hole score of 13 under par, eclipsing by
two shots a record set in 1992 by then NCAA
Freshman of the Year Jimmy Flippen, and
matched in 2001 by current PGA Tour player
Steve Marino. Pastore was named to the
Division I PING All-East Region team, and
closed out his college career with a six under
par, 11th place finish at the NCAA Regional
Championship.
