ONE-WEEK ARTS INTENSIVES
Piano Honors Program & Audition Prep (Ages 8-13)
This program will provide a rich and challenging curriculum to talented, young students
of intermediate to advanced level, helping them to progress and nurture their love and
enjoyment of music. Students will receive instruction from the award-winning faculty
of the Pianist Program at Orange County School of the Arts. Students will have the
opportunity to participate in solo performances, one-on-one private lessons, audition
preparation, sight reading, and master classes taught by prominent guest artists.
Prerequisite: This intensive is by audition only. Interested students must call 714-560-
0900 ext. 4000 for audition requirements. The audition deadline is Friday, May 10.

Popular Music (Ages 11-15)
Calling all vocalists, guitarists, keyboardists, bassists, and drummers: join us for an
exciting week of instruction focused around popular and commercial music! Daily
activities will include band rehearsals, music theory, songwriting, and instrument-specific
instruction taught by OCSA Commercial Music Program staff and clinicians. The week will
culminate with students recording their original songs in OCSA’s state-of-the-art studio
and a showcase performance.
Prerequisite: This class is designed for students with a minimum of one year of
instruction and/or experience on their instrument. This class is open to the following
instruments: drums, electric bass, acoustic/electric guitar, piano/keyboard, and vocalists.

PRODUCTION & DESIGN
Special Effects Makeup (Ages 11-15)
Students will learn the basics for a variety of special effects makeup design, utilizing special
paints, latex, and derma wax techniques for creating effects like bloody gore, accident
wounds, and bullet wounds, as well as character development for zombies or fantasy pieces
and complementary hair designs. Included in the class fee is a Ben NYE Special Effects
Makeup Kit that students can keep at the end of the intensive and utilize for future stage, film,
or television work.
