SHIP REVIEW Silver Muse Arrives “Down Under” by John & Kerry Treacy We flew to Darwin on Christmas Day for an overnight stay before joining Silver Muse next day. Around 7.30am next morning I looked out the hotel window and there was the ship approaching Darwin Harbour – a beautiful sight to see. In just over three hours we would be embarking the latest luxury flagship of the Silversea Cruises’ fleet described as an undeniable work of art, setting a new bar in luxury cruising and redefining opulent ocean travel. We knew we were in for a treat. The words of Adam Armstrong, Managing Director – Australia and New Zealand for Silversea Cruises came to mind “the core hallmarks of a Silversea cruise still remain unchanged: indulgent all-inclusive luxury, the finest gourmet cuisine, spacious ocean- view suites with butler service, and one of the highest space-to-guest ratios at sea. Silver Muse maintains the small ship intimacy and is set in the most exclusive surrounds where you can experience relaxation amongst 24 Issue 29 spacious and eloquently equipped indoor and outdoor spaces.” A short taxi ride to the pier and we were quickly on board at the reception desk sipping champagne as we checked in. We were made most welcome and were escorted to our classic veranda suite on deck 6. Within minutes our luggage arrived and our butler was there to greet us. This was to be our elegant home away from home – comfortable, graceful and spacious- with Queen-sized bed and choice of pillows, roomy sitting area, writing desk, large walk-in wardrobe with personal safe, large marble bathroom with vanity, full-sized bath and separate shower with choice of three brands of toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, soap and shower gel – fragranced Bulgari, aromatic Otiga or pH-neutral Sebamed, two 42”/106 cm flat screen HD TV’s embedded in the large mirrors in the bedroom and sitting areas and a teak veranda with patio furniture and floor-to-ceiling
