The new Spectrum of the Seas Spectrum of the Seas is getting closer to completion as she was floated out of the dry dock on 25 February 2019 to begin the next phase of her construction at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. Designed specifically for the Chinese market, Spectrum of the Seas is scheduled for delivery in April 2019. The ship has a rating of 169,300 GT and measures 347.75 m in length and 41.4 m in width, with capacity for 4,188 passengers. Cunard Unveils World Class Design Team for New Ship Cunard has announced the world class team of designers recruited to create the interiors for its eagerly anticipated new ship. Award winning designers Simon Rawlings (David Collins Studio), Terry McGillicuddy (Richmond International) and Sybille de Margerie (Sybille de Margerie Paris) are already working with the ship’s globally renowned Creative Director, Adam D Tihany. Cunard’s fourth ship, which is set to join the fleet in 2022, is yet to be named but will be built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. “The calibre of talent we have brought together for this project will bring to life our vision of creating a truly world class ship. Working alongside the legendary Adam D Tihany, the team is working hard to ensure that every aspect of our new ship is exciting and forward-looking, yet unmistakably Cunard,” Cunard President Simon Palethorpe said. The new ship will be the 249th vessel to sail under the Cunard flag and will bring the luxury line’s fleet up to four, for the first time since the 1980s. She joins Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth and the flagship Queen Mary 2. Three Holland America Line Ships for Canada and New England in 2020 In 2020 Holland America Line's Amsterdam, Zaandam and Zuiderdam will transport guests to the stunning coastlines and historic cities of Canada and New England on more than 40 cruises. Sailing one of the most robust seasons in the industry between April and October, guests can select from among 10 itineraries ranging from six to 14 days. During the northern summer months, cruisers will have even more sailings to choose from when Amsterdam joins Zaandam to offer additional Canada & New England Discovery cruises between Boston, Massachusetts, and Montréal, Québec — giving guests more opportunities to explore Maine's spectacular Acadia National Park or Cape Breton's incredible Bird Islands. Beginning in April, Amsterdam, Zaandam and Zuiderdam sail a diverse collection of six, seven, eight, 10, 11 and 14 day cruises departing from Boston; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; New York City, New York; and Montréal and Québec City, Québec, in Canada. The cruises will feature calls at some of the region's most iconic destinations, including Canada's Charlottetown, Sydney and Halifax, as well as Bar Harbor, Maine. Royal Caribbean Orders Sixth Oasis-Class Vessel Royal Caribbean Cruises has announced it has entered into an agreement with French shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique to order a sixth Oasis-class ship for delivery in the fall of 2023. “It is such a pleasure to announce the order of another Oasis-class ship,” said Richard D.
