Tell us about

your new single, Cinderella. What inspired those lyrics?

Spencer: I've always wanted to record my own original love song that wasn't about drama in a relationship. Whenever I write lyrics, I like to build them around a concept or theme or topic. Dad and I were talking in the car on the way to New York, where the song was recorded, and I still hadn't the lyrics. In the conversation we talked about how sometimes you meet a person one time and there's like a spark, and you aren't able to ever really spend time with them again 'cause you were in a location or situation where it was just a chance meeting. like on vacation somewhere or in a city where you don't live kind of thing. I've personally met girls that are so nice and are my type ( LOL ), that just ended up being a one time meeting and it stinks 'cause you think about what it would be like. Then that kind of led into the bigger thought of knowing what kind of girl I want to date and knowing she's out there somewhere. And I'll just keep trying on shoes until the right one fits. That's kind of where the Cinderella idea came from. I know I shared in an article before what I look for in a girl and I've actually dated a girl that really fit that expectation, but distance and our schedules just never let it work out. So, this song is really more about finding the girl of my dreams and to keep searching until I do.

"A true prince is a guy who loves God passionately and loves people well. Submitting to him as a husband in a biblical way won't feel like a demeaning task.

He will be chasing after God's heart so closely that trusting him will feel the same as trusting God. He will be driven, and he will not be intimidated by you having ambitions and success.

He will take seriously his role as a provider, and he will know that this means so much more than just making money.

He will be brave even when he's afraid. He will be honest even when it hurts. He won't be completely consumed by YOU. He will have other friends and interests. Trust me, this actually allows him to love you better in the long run.

A true prince will trust you and respect you. He will make you a better person without needing to change who you are, and he will be secure enough to allow you to make him a better person too."
