Princess Spotlight: Cinderella

by Emily Rosanna

(continued from previous page)

Whoa. Can you imagine what it will sound like when the mountains sing??? I love a deep bass voice, and I'm guessing the mountains will have pretty deep voices. The whales will sing praises. Trees, rivers, deer, birds, wildcats, everything! Every single creature in the heavens and on the earth and under the earth will be making joyful music to Jesus! That's what music is all about. We have to keep it that way. In a world going completely caput, you can still find purity in a few, small, hidden nooks and crannies.

Let Him In, Love <3

Whether you like it or not, the truth is that music speaks to our hearts.

And it's up to you whether you believe the fake or the real. The fake is what screams, "You are a joke! And the world is laughing." The Real is what whispers, "You are beautiful. I love you."

God wants to sing a beautiful song to you. Take out those earbuds, turn off Taylor Swift, and listen.

"The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love, He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing."

Out of all the Disney princesses, Cinderella has always been my favorite! I have always admired the loving nature she showed toward everyone despite how badly she was treated. Her beautiful character offers us something to look up to and strive towards as daughters of the King. Every time I watch it, I learn something completely new about what it truly means to be a princess.

Although Cinderella was undeniably beautiful, she didn’t rely on that alone to be the extent of her beauty, and instead focused on the inner kind of beauty. This included remaining gentle and kind, even though her stepmother and stepsisters treated her harshly. Even though there were times when she could have easily lost her self-control to things that made her terribly upset and sometimes angry. She accepted them and got on with what she was supposed to do.

I love the fact that she also extended her helping hand to everybody, even the mice and barn animals. To me it is an example of Christ’s love for us and the love we are to show others, despite who they are or what they have done. With each new day that came her way, she went ahead with an expectant, positive attitude, with the hope that something good would come out of it. And in a lot of ways I agree that is how it should be--if we can’t change a situation, something we can do is learn to look at it differently.

Throughout the story, she continued to hold onto the hope and kept the faith that someday her dreams would come true. When applying this to real life, this can mean holding onto God and His promises over our lives, even though things may be bad at the moment. It may just be waiting for your Prince Charming like Cinderella, but whatever it is, thanks to Cinderella’s example, we know to never give up on it!
