"A typical day on the mission field is full! Since we usually open multiple homes on each trip, and the trips are 10 days in length, each day is usually dedicated to a new home opening.  Most days we get up early, have a devotional during breakfast, and head out either by bus or train to the remote city or village where the new orphanage is located.  It is really fun because it truly is a celebration that the entire village has been anticipating for 6 months as they have watched the construction take place.  Everyone wants to come see what’s going on!  There’s usually a lot of music, food, dancing and tears as our team gets to love on these kids all day long.  We get to pray over the homes, cut the ribbon, and watch the kids run into the home for the very first time.

It is the best, as you truly witness a miracle!  At our homes, we also make sure there is fresh water by installing a fresh water well.  This just adds to the celebration, as we let the kids pump the water and the entire village drinks and plays in the water!  It really is a joyous celebration.

During the day we lavish the children with gifts consisting of new clothing, backpacks full of school supplies (since each child is now enrolled in local school) and TOYS!  We have a blast. Then we wake up and do it all over again!"

Hearing about stories like Linday's always inspires me. But it can also cause me to think, "What am I supposed to do with my life? Will I ever make that big of an impact?"

We asked Lindsay how she found her purpose in life: "Before starting Angel House, I always struggled with what my place would be.  I had a college degree and I was married, so by most standards, I was doing pretty well! But I always had a stirring that there was more for me.  I love that God called me to this at such a young age, because I was totally unqualified.  That let me know that HE was taking care of the details, I just needed to walk it out!  As I have grown and learned more over the years, it still amazes me that He chose me for this task.  Never count yourself out, that’s for sure!"

Lindsay's best advice for other world changers out there is to, "Learn from someone who is doing what you see yourself doing.  I am so lucky that I had friends doing similar works on the mission field that I could run to when I got overwhelmed! I call that “finding your Elizabeth.” In the Bible, when Mary finds out that she is pregnant supernaturally, it says that she ran to the house of Elizabeth, who was also carrying something supernatural from God — a child in her old age.  They had something in common and they stuck together!"

"One of my favorite memories was actually at the very first home opening in 2010.  There was a little girl named Naveena, and she was one that I had really connected with earlier that year. To come back in December and see her completely different — bathed, healthier and full of life — was an amazing experience.  We spent the whole day together, and I didn’t know how I was going to leave her!  Although I wasn’t a mother at the time, I could only imagine how I would feel about my own kids if I loved her that much! She’s still special to me, and I enjoy getting photos of her to watch her grow!"
