The broken and shattered state of our world is devastatingly overwhelming. At least, it is when we think that we must fix it with our own clever ideas and human power. For far too long, we have felt as though we must be the “light” in our own strength. We’ve measured the possibility of our lives by the dinky measuring tape of our human ability. Meanwhile, the Spirit of the Living God (the same Spirit who raised Jesus Christ from the dead!) longs to do this thing with us! He longs to work in and through us. He desires for us to view impossible challenges as amazing opportunities for His mind-blowing power and love to be on display!

The beautiful thing about the mess that we’re in is that it’s so devastatingly impossible to clean up without the Spirit of the Living God! He will get all of the glory because there’s no way that we can manage this on our own! It absolutely HAS to be Him or else the brokenness is never going to get healed.

Isaiah 9:7 says, “Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end…”

The desire of God’s heart is to bring wholeness, healing, righteousness, grace, peace, and purity.

“The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”

Wow, what powerful words! The ZEAL of the Lord. Can you imagine? The passion of Christ! The zeal of the God who breathed out the stars! He is absolutely committed to finishing what He started on this earth! There is nothing that can stop His plan of passion from being fulfilled: the increase of His government, His Kingdom, will never end!

The only question is, will we jump on board and join Him in what He is doing? Or will we sit on the sidelines of apathy and keep on sipping our lattes of lethargic indifference?

One of the definitions of broken is bankrupt. In this issue, we’ll be looking at three areas that the enemy frequently attacks and tries to rob…

1. Our Minds

2. Our Souls & Spirits

3. Our Bodies

OUR MINDS

Is your mind bankrupt, anxious, and lacking peace? Or do you walk in your promised inheritance of “power, love and a sound mind”? (2 Timothy 1:7)

What does it mean to be whole? The 1828 Dictionary says that it means to be “complete, to have all, the total amount or number, the entire thing.” What is the opposite of whole? Bankrupt.

If the enemy is stealing peace, power, or love from your mind; you are being bankrupt. He is swiping the big beautiful fullness of what God intends for you to have right out from under your chin!

When we choose to worry, we’re allowing the enemy to steal from us. When we pour garbage into our brains, toxic entertainment, or unkind thoughts toward another person; we’re opening up the safe of our brains and saying, “Go ahead, rob my bank!”

The bank of your mind is absolutely priceless, and you don’t want a thief anywhere near it. That’s why the Word of God tell us that our “mind banks” should be full of “love, power, and soundness (peace)” God tells us that our ‘normal’ should be peace, love, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. His Word is like the example showing us what the environment of our minds should be! When we look into the mirror of His Word and realize that our mind bank is not filled with those things, the Holy Spirit calls us to get refilled in His abundance! He says, “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters, and you who have no money (broken, bankrupt) come, buy and eat! Come and buy wine and milk without money and without cost.” (Isaiah 55)
