Crown of Beauty: What inspires you to write and play music?

LoveCollideLauren: Okay so, each of us have different things, but my own life experiences tend to be my biggest inspiration, so life’s natural ups and downs, things that we go through. Being outside in nature, getting out, and just being out in what God has created, it’s always inspiring and it’s an easy way to clear your head. So many times we get stuck if we have writer’s block or anything like that, so going out in nature is really helpful. And also traveling and being around different people, whether it’s different cities or different states, or even different countries, different cultures are really inspiring. To open up your mind to beyond what’s just right in front of you. And then there are different times that I’m listening to a sermon or I’m listening to other music, other great, inspirational music and that inspires me to write better or says something that triggers something in my mind, like, oh you know, that’s really cool! That’s another way like I can just get inspired and get into writing and playing my music.

Crown of Beauty: What is your favorite song to perform live and why?

LoveCollideBrooke: Oh, well I think we have different favorite songs to perform, but for me I like to perform two songs. I like to perform “Fox” and “Yahweh.” I love to perform “Fox” because we have the horns and people jump up and down, like I just, I personally enjoy that song! I think it’s one of my favorites on the album. So like to jump up and down and go crazy, I love that, all the excitement. But then, I also love “Yahweh,” because it’s the most powerful in our set and whenever we do that song, it’s close to the last song in our set and we encourage the people around us, we’re like “hey, you know this song’s so powerful, because Yahweh is the Name of God. So when you sing it be aware that you’re calling on God to come. Let’s call on God right now, right here, right now. Let’s call on Him to invade our lives, invade this place.” And that’s really the time where we encourage and challenge the body of Christ to call, call on God for revival. So it’s really our revival cry moment. And it’s so cool seeing everyone raise their arms and just like seeing the aching hearts for Jesus, and like aching hearts to see God move. And He wants to and He does, and so, that’s probably my favorite song, “Yahweh”.
