1. First, you’ll want to decorate your jar with your vintage lace, or any other materials that you have decided to use. Make sure that you have covered your working space in some newspaper or with some old magazine pages.

2. Cut a length of your lace and lay it down on a table. Place the jar on its side on top of the lace. With your glue gun, you’ll want to glue two small dots on the side of the jar facing you. Roll one end of the lace up and around your jar. Glue down the lace, and do the same with the other end.

3. When the lace is glued on your jar, you’ll want to take your ribbon and tie it around the jar into a nice bow. If the ends are a bit long, take your scissors and cut diagonally to trim it.

4. Then you’ll want to get your colourful card or paper and carefully draw some equally-sized rectangles across the page with your pencil and ruler.

5. After you have done this, cut the rectangles you have made out and lay them in a pile on the table. If you want to be extra creative you can use some craft scissors that are available in a variety of patterns.

6. Last, pick up each piece of card or paper one by one, and write your biggest and most courageous dreams down! To do this you can use just an ordinary black pen, or if you want to make it extra fancy, you can buy some colourful glitter or gel pens.

Now if you don’t really like lace and ribbons so much, that’s completely okay! All you need to do is follow the instructions more or less the same way except you can use decorative paper and other similar materials that you can easily get for a decent price from your local craft store. There are so many things you can use to decorate your dream jar including paints, glitter, twine, buttons, etc.

So now and again when you have a quiet moment, take your precious dreams out of your jar and pray over them, because there is an incredible amount of power in prayer. When we pray, things happen. It doesn’t matter if your dreams are as small as having a new friend or as big as travelling the world. If they matter to you, they matter to God.

What was your childhood dream?

"As a child, I didn't want to do the extraordinary - most kids wanted to be a firefighter or a ballerina...but I was a bit more on the practical side.

Growing up, I would play "teacher" with my dolls. My parents recall me coming home from Sunday School on Sunday afternoons and performing the whole class (with every detail - good and bad) with my dolls.

I would help lead a Bible study for the younger kids for a women's Wednesday morning Bible Study (I was only seven or eight - but that is one of the pros of being homeschooled)!

When I would have friends over we would either play "school" or "house." Those were the coolest pretend games on the face of the earth.

It only figures I wanted to be a teacher - both my parents are teachers!

As a child, I let my imagination soar wild...well, I let it soar to the classroom!

But, every child has their own unique dream for life...no childhood dream is the same! Whether it be a famous rockstar or a chef - it is unique!"
