a name that will stick Crowley High School names football field after two-time Super Bowl champion and former Eagle standout, Gary Reasons On opening night of the 2016 season, the Crowley High School football program recognized one of the greatest players to ever wear the purple and white. Gary Reasons was a standout multi-sport athlete for the Eagles, earning 13 varsity letters from 1976-80. He was an all-region linebacker and First Team All-State tight end as a senior. He earned a scholarship to play linebacker at Northwestern State University in Louisiana, where he was the first three-time All American in Division 1-AA (FCS) history. In 1996, he was among the inaugural class of small school college players inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. 8 CROWLEY ISD CONNECTIONS | Fall 2016 His nine-year NFL career included highlights such as: • Selected to the NFL All-Rookie Team in 1984 • Selected to the All-Madden and All-NFL Teams in 1989 • Member of the New York Giants teams that won Super Bowl XXI and XXV Reasons returned to Crowley High School in January as part of the National Football League’s Super Bowl High School Honor Roll initiative to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Super Bowl. He returned to campus to deliver a golden football and present the school with his varsity letter jacket.
