PHOTO BY KIP KOVAR The Roundup Green Isle 3, Hamburg 2 Tues., June 21 In a tight game throughout, the Green Isle Irish came out on top with a 3-2 win over the visiting Hamburg Hawks. Max Langheinrich worked seven innings and picked up the win for the Irish. He allowed one run, while striking out 13. Zach Herd, Josh Anthony, Josh Kraby, and Brian Scherschligt each had two hits apiece for the Irish. For the Hawks, Justin Perlich led the charge offensively with three hits. Brownton 15, New Germany 0 Wed., June 22 The Brownton Bruins used a nine-run second inning to hand the New Germany Dutchmen a 15-0 defeat. Ryan Grams homered for the Bruins, and Spencer Glaeser drove in three more runs, as the Bruins had the bats going. Grams also picked up the win on the mound. He threw five scoreless frames, allowing just three hits while striking out eight. Sam Schiffman went 1-for-3 in the loss for the Dutchmen with a double. Jason Bullis took the loss. He threw just one inning, allowing eight runs to come across off of five hits. Young America 3, Glencoe 2 Wed., June 22 Barret Panning led the Young America Cardinals to a 3-2 win over the Glencoe Brewers. Panning went 2-for-3 in the game with two runs scored, a double, and a home run to lead the way. Cole Peters and Logan Harms each had three hits as well for the Cardinals. Isaac Hormann got the win on the mound. He pitched all nine innings, allowing zero earned runs, while striking out six. Gannon Jordahl led the way for the Brewers with two hits. Derek Weber also had two hits, Justin Erkenbrack took the loss on the mound. He went eight innings, giving up three runs off of 10 hits. Winsted 6, Cologne 4 Thurs., June 23 The Winsted Wildcats took advantage of their baserunners in a 6-4 win over the Cologne Hollanders. Garret Zander drove in two runs and Shane Khan was solid on the mound as the Wildcats picked up another win. Khan threw seven inings, allowing one earned run, while striking out 13 to lead the Wildcats. Matt Elsenpeter scored two runs, and Joe Kley had two hits, including a double. Alex Meeker picked up the loss for the Hollanders. He threw seven innings, allowing six runs off of seven hits. Kyle Twait had two hits to lead the Hollanders offensively. (Final standings will be used for Region tournament seeding; tiebreakers will be applied at that time and are not accounted for in this listing.) Matt and Chris Odegaard stole the show for the Bluejays offensively. Matt went 4-for-4 with a home run, while his brother Chris went 2-for-3 with a grand slam and a triple. The Bluejays scored at least one run in every inning except the seventh and final inning in the blowout win. Cody Hallan picked up the win for the Bluejays. He threw six innings, allowing one run off of six hits while striking out eight. The Brewers combined for just seven hits in the loss.
