Registered Ophthalmic Ultrasound Biometrist ( ROUB )
To qualify for certification at the ROUB level , you must meet one of the following three options :

ROUB-R1
COA-OMP or CMA 1 accredited training program for ophthalmic medical technicians
♦ If you completed the program more than 36 months ago , you will need to submit 25 approved credits .

Employed 2,000 hours as a COA , COT , COMT , or CDOS

ROUB Recertification
An initial certification is valid for 36 months ( three years ). After that period , recertification is required every three years to maintain the use of the credential . The recertification period begins exactly 36 months from the month and year that you obtained initial certification .
To recertify , certificants may use one of two pathways :

25 Credits with a minimum of 10 related to the examination content outline . The other 15 credits may be unrelated to the content outline . All credits must be earned within the 36-month recertification cycle .
