It has been quite a year already for Somerset CCC with the Royal London Cup
secured and the team currently sitting just behind league leaders Essex in the County
Championship. Cricket Club Magazine recently caught up with their Chief Executive
Andrew Cornish to find out more about how they have been getting along lately.
Andrew told us, “There’s a
fantastic atmosphere at the club at
the moment coming off the back of
the victory in the One Day Cup and
we are also going well in the County
Championship. I’ve been here for a
year now and there is a very good
vibe with some terrific crowds
coming in to watch our matches.

“On the playing side we have a
bunch of very talented players who
have not quite peaked yet but are all
maturing together nicely. We have
great leadership from Club Captain
Tom Abell and everyone has been
stepping up and performing.
“We were optimistic coming
into the season after last year’s
good performance and learned
some lessons and are now looking
to continue to push on and win a
County Championship. For things
to have come together in both white
and red ball cricket is very pleasing
for us. Having never won the
County Championship that would
