that Kostas and all the
committees working on the convention have been working in overdrive to make this a huge success for the PAA, its
members, families and guests. A list of the committees formed and resolutions passed at this meeting will be posted in
the next issue of KPHTH.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a national board meeting weekend without a dinner dance on Saturday night. The Salt
Lake City chapters wowed the board with their prime rib carving stations, amazing desserts, great music, entertainment from the Salt Lake City and the Denver dancers, and their Cretan display of hospitality that kept guests from
leaving until the early hours of the morning!
A special ceremony on Sunday closed out the weekend events. The board was invited to participate in the church
service held at Holy Trinity Cathedral, which was followed by a wreath-laying to commemorate the lives of those
Cretans as well as Greeks who worked and gave their lives to the mines of Utah in order to secure a better life for
their families.
Needless to say, the PAA board was quite impressed with Salt Lake City’s enthusiasm, hospitality and excitement.
Special thanks go out to the presidents of the Salt Lake chapters: George Tsoutsounakis (Minos), Roula Sargetakis (Daughters of Minos), and Mary Papadakis (Minotavros) and to District Governor George Liodakis. They bent
over backwards to make everyone on the board feel at home and welcomed. We can’t wait to come back next summer to see first-hand the culmination
of all their convention preparations
and planning. Based on what we saw
during the board meeting weekend,
it will be spectacular. Reserve June
27 to July 2, 2015 to “Discover Your
Past, Claim Your Future” at the 44th
National PAA Convention. K
