Basketmaking is a skill which is
suitable for all ages and very satisfying
to accomplish. In this one-day
introductory course, and under the
expert guidance of basket maker and
craft tutor Sabine Wolniczak of
Beaghmore Basket, you will learn
some basic basket making skills and
create a simple round basket with
locally sourced willow. Have fun making your own traditional
Polish craft masterpiece which you can
hang on your own wall! Wycinanki is a
traditional Polish folk art. These folk
paper cutouts were used in the 1800's
by Polish peasants to decorate their
houses. Decorations were typically
hung on white walls and along ceiling
beams to make the house more
cheery. The cutouts are symmetrical
with nature designs and geometric
shapes (and lots of roosters). The
teacher is an awarded artist who
specialises in paper cut outs.
In this painting workshop you will
explore aspects of single-pose figure
study. Working with the life model, you
will elaborate on efficient methods to
quick and accurate colour mixing for a
harmonious and direct approach to
figure painting. This workshop aims to
help students become more decisive,
fluid, and expressive as well as dealing
with problems that arise, embracing
alternative solutions and exploring
ideas as they present themselves.

Using paper and glue, you can
completely transform a plain
lampshade into a totally unique
decorative object. During this
workshop you will get to create your
very own bespoke lampshade. You will
need to bring plain card or fabric
lampshade with no pleating. All other
materials will be provided.

colours, Pochoir is based on a simple
stencilling technique to achieve
effective and immediate results.
Diverse textures can be obtained by
varying ink application through
rollering, brushing, spraying, spattering
and sponging. Experience printing
using a professional artists’ press, oil
based inks and especially handmade
papers. Come prepared with your
sketches and inspirational images,
create an original work or an edition of
prints to give away as presents.
