While seniors across the school are focused on finishing up their fourth and final year of high school, a select group of Silver Creek Leadership Academy students are just beginning their year-long capstone projects. SCLA seniors are creating their capstone projects to encompass everything they’ve learned throughout their previous three years in the leadership program. Using vision, communication, critical & creative thinking, respect, ethics, and teamwork, these projects hope to showcase what SCLA has to offer to the community and beyond.

Sam Nolledo

Fun Fact: can ace tests without studying or knowing any of the material

Sam’s capstone project, Ignite the Spark, focuses on the impact that music education has on students. He knows that music has shaped many students’ lives and influenced their career paths. “My inspiration came from the ashes of my original project idea,” said Sam, who initially planned on filming a documentary on teenage bullying. He knew he wanted to showcase his film and video production abilities, in addition to conducting interviews. For students interested in getting involved with Sam’s project, they can follow him on Twitter @ignitethespark, email his school email, [email protected], or find him at school and talk to him.
