Getting involved in extracurriculars:

Silver creek offers a wide variety of extracurriculars that you should be a part of. Extracurriculars are important, not only to keep you busy, but to pad your college applications when you are a senior. There are many clubs, sports, and activities here at silver creek. Our clubs include: chess club, art club, book club, etc. Our sports programs involve: football, soccer, volleyball, baseball, and others. Check out Silver Creek’s website for more information. Another way to get involved is to join activities like community service club, national honor society, and Rachel's challenge. All of those are amazing for showing your skills and abilities outside of the classroom. Getting yourself involved won’t just help your college applications, but it's an amazing way to meet some great friends you could have for the rest of your life.

Relationships

Relationships are also a big part of high school. Romantic relationships, friendships, and family relationships are all parts of being in high school. Romantic relationships such as boyfriends and girlfriends are always happening. Emma Bonca states “If you find the right person it can be really great but if you don’t, it's terrible”. Friendships are also something that will come and go throughout high school. Some people will have the same friends all four years of high school whereas others will make new friends every single year. It all depends on you and what you want and need from a friendship. Family relationships are important to sustain throughout high school. Your family is always going to be there to count on and are your friends for life. Keeping healthy relationships between people is extremely important throughout high school. No matter if it's with your significant other, best friend, or family, they all can have positive or negative impacts on you.

Surviving High School isn’t as scary as it seems. You will meet some of the best people in your life here as well as learn some pretty great life lessons. The SAT is a major test, but don’t let it get to your head because it will be alright. Finals can be scary, but stay happy and don't let it take over your life, it's just a test! Extracurriculars are fun to do but if you want to focus on school and school only, then go for it. Keep your relationships strong throughout high school as well to have fun high school experience. Take this into consideration and you'll have some pretty great years ahead of you!
