One of the more popular sports to watch this fall has been Volleyball. Rival matchups against Longmont and Niwot attract some of the most rowdy student sections in any sport and this definitely motivates the Raptors. The girls have compiled an 8-11 record with a fairly young team and a bright future ahead. Senior outside hitter Rylee Anderson is leading the way with an impressive 263 kills (an attack by a player that is not receivable by the opposing team and rewards a point), about one-third of the team’s total kills. Caitlin Volkmann is finding success at middle blocker, tallying 231 kills and showing vast improvements from the beginning of the season to the end. We asked Caitlin what the highlight of the season was, she replied, “How far we’ve come from the beginning. For a team who hasn’t played together until this year we are doing well and keep improving.” She definitely enjoyed her sophomore season and fun was always at the core of this team.
