Ballin' with J.P

An impressive fall soccer season has sparked our interest for an interview with J.P. Hallmark, a large contributor to the Silver Creek Raptors defense. Beginning with our first question, we asked J.P. "What has been the biggest reason to why you guys are having such a successful season?"

“We have great chemistry on and off the field. Coach has really set a high standard for us this season and we’re hoping to deliver.”

So far, they sure have been producing what was expected of them this season. We then asked J.P. what lessons have you learned and changes that you’ve made from your losses this season?

“We have made two major improvements: our possession in the final and defensive thirds of the field, and increasing the off ball movement of players. Both crucial for the success of any team.”

Realizing their weaknesses from their games, the Raptors have been able to correct and work on how to become a better team. Soccer is a time consuming sport and in order to be successful, they need to constantly be working. Which leads to our next question, how has soccer impacted your life?

“Soccer has been teaching me the importance of discipline and teamwork. Being able to work as a cohesive unit, with all different types of people is a useful skill that is needed beyond the pitch.”

On the lighter side, we asked J.P. what his favorite memory from high school soccer was, he replied,

“Team dinners. Especially when Ryan Huey and I dominated in corn hole… light work.”

And finally, we all know that J.P. is a huge sneaker head, so we had to ask him how many pairs he owned,

“22, because who doesn’t like shoes?”
