Boys Tennis

The boys tennis team had a great 2017 season shown with an overall winning record of 7-4. Brandon Nelson, Ben Bicknell, and Jared Nielson played singles, while Zach Shepherd and Justin Thompson made an appearance in the regional tournament for doubles, coming up just short in the semifinals. Sophomore Ben Bicknell had a great season, compiling a 9-1 record along with his teammate Brandon Nelson (9-2). Both were given the opportunity to play in the state tournament. Nelson suffered a close defeat to Valor Christian and Ben Bicknell was edged by Kent Denver in the quarterfinals. When asked what the best moment of the season was, senior Justin Thompson replied, “Beating Steamboat, last year we lost in a three set match, but this year we won in two, playing sets of our best tennis.” The team is definitely proud of their success this year.

Boys soccer

The boys 10th in 4A state rank has been a solid accomplishment for their 10-3-2 season. A juggernaut offense, fierce defense, and a relentless goalie have contributed to a very successful season. Led by senior strikers Trey Gerlach and Connor Peskin, combining for 26 goals. On the defensive side, J.P. Hallmark has dominated and contributed to Brandon Coder’s 1.06 goals allowed per game, an impressive stat for any goalie. Goof luck to the Raptors achieving their goal of a state championship.
