The Last of Us Part II

The original Last of Us was an instant classic that no one really expected. Past zombie games had given people the same emotional connections to their characters and plotlines, i.e. Telltale’s The Walking Dead, but up to that point, no other game had blended such action packed and stressful zombie combat with an in depth story and had it work quite as well. The excellent graphics didn’t hurt either. So, it came as no surprise that fans were immediately on board when the teaser for a second game was released in December of last year. As far as we know at this point, the game takes place five years after the events of the first game, and will center around the same two main characters. Ellie and Joel. From the first teaser, we can assume that Ellie’s main motivation in the game will be hate, as she seems to have some sort of “hit list” to fulfill. If you needed any further proof of how dedicated people are to this series, fans believe they have already pinpointed where the second game is going to take place purely from footage seen in the two short teaser trailers that have been released. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed the first game, or anyone who enjoys a good story, and isn’t afraid to cry... A lot. If this is your first foray into the series however, I would strongly recommend you play the original before you play the second game. It will most definitely enhance the overall experience.

Destiny 2

Destiny 2 is an MMORPG (or Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) that puts you in the shoes of a Guardian. Guardians are the protagonists of the game, who lose their “light” after the space tyrant Dominus Ghaul and his fleet of Cabal take over their last standing city. You must follow the storyline to collect the necessary weapons, armor, and abilities to defeat Ghaul. The highest character level you can reach is 20, but character level is different from “light level”, which is a measurement of how much power you have combined between your weapons and armor. After you finish the campaign you can play in PVP (player vs player) arenas in casual and competitive modes, and do side missions located on the planets. Overall, a very good gaming experience.
