College Sports

Sports have all sorts of meaning to people around the world; whether it be hope or it would be a way for people to enjoy the atmosphere that sports bring. Sports are genuinely meant to change the lives of other people around them. Young people across the world are touched by sports in ways that can honestly change who they are as people.

There are so many stories that come out about how sports got kids out of the projects, out of abusive relationships; they were given a voice. For some, sports may just be another thing that is on TV, but for others, it is the center of their universe. There are thousands of careers in sports, whether being an athlete, being a coach, a recruiter, or the front office manager. Sports are an ever-growing industry, that will never go away because of how much of an effect they have on society.

With the season starting on November 10, NCAA Division I Basketball is in full force for power rankings. After a shocking year of upsets for the 2016-2017 season, it will be interesting to see where teams end up landing, because of the shake ups. The North Carolina Tar Heels ended up winning the championship trophy last season, however, they are not ranked number one to start the season. The Duke Blue Devils are at the top of the rankings, especially after their incoming recruiting class was one of the best in the nation. With March Madness so far in the future, it is easy to start looking at power rankings and assuming that teams will change from where they are now. Some teams should not be counted out for contenders to play in the infamous dance playoffs, there should a lot of flexibility. It will be fierce competition and there will hopefully be some upsets to shock fans from coast to coast.
