Crayons to Calculators

Looking for a way to help out your community this summer? Look no further! Crayons to Calculators is an amazing organization created to provide backpacks, school supplies, as well as grants for teachers and classrooms to promote learning and student success. Because Crayons to Calculators is a nonprofit organization, it relies heavily on its volunteers and donors to help put together backpacks and gather enough school supplies to help this common need. A great way you can help them is to put together a backpack to donate and drop it off at a designated site, or even spend some time volunteering this summer in July by being on the “build a backpack” assembly line. These donated supplies will then go to low income families in the Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley School Districts to give children and students the supplies and materials they need to thrive in school.

As the Crayons to Calculators website says, “There are more than 15,000 families in the Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley school districts who do not have the financial means to purchase basic school supplies for their kids. Not having the necessary supplies for classwork and homework has a dramatic effect on student learning and contributes to the achievement gap. Your support has a direct, tangible, and profound impact on over 10,000 local students.” To contact Crayons to Calculators for more information, to fill a backpack, or to volunteer, please go to or
