The Animals you will see in the following pictures are all at risk from
habitat loss, there is a great variety of environments these pollinators
and beautiful creatures thrive in that development is turning into
pavement, allowing a tithe for habitat as in the case of Milwaukee's
Monarch Trail that has lost nearly 90% of its habitat to development
and yet a mere handful of the people that understand the cultural,
scientific and Sacred nature of the Monarch migration stood firm and
saved what was needed. The people in the region surrounding Mexico's
Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve, a World heritage site, near the
village of Anguangeo see the return of the Monarch butterfly coinciding
with El Dia de los Muertos as the incarnation of relatives past. Thereby
retaining the sacred link to the past and the future. I encourage you all
to reach out to any local effort to restore habitat of any kind, as these
creatures depend on them all, as do we.
