To Be an Imaginal Cell

Imaginal cells – have you heard of them? I first learned about them 25 years ago from an evolutionary biologist, Elizabet Sahtouris. Their literal existence has inspired me ever since and I’ve often relied on their significance metaphorically for soul support. Recently, I keep hearing about them from other people as if it’s new, and revelatory, information. What I think is happening is that the dynamic of the 100th Monkey has brought us to a major evolutionary tipping point as Malcolm Gladwell describes in his book of the same name.

I’m ready to declare my identity as an imaginal cell for the human. I hope you are too.
