LOVE LETTERS OF THE

FUTURE

NICHOLE BROWN, EMMY & ME

The concept is simple: take a photo – anywhere is fine, but scenic is better, post your photo with a list of locations you are willing to trade your photo for, and let people know what you would like your note to say. Once you’ve found someone to trade with, they write your note and take of photo of it from where they are, you write their note and take a photo of it where you are, and then you trade.

No money is exchanged, there are no lengthy online discussions – some people are trading hundreds, if not thousands of photos, and all of a sudden your love has travelled around the world and back again.

We love travel so we will pounce on any chance to be inspired by parts of the world we have yet to see with our own eyes. We don’t World of Warcraft, and we didn’t Pokemon Go, but this is a craze we are more than happy to roll with.

In a few short days our love has travelled to Puerto Rico, Scotland, across the US – including stopping by a bowl of crawfish in Louisiana, to Australia, around New Zealand, and is currently being tracked through Canada, Russia, parts of Europe, around the London Eye, and who knows where else?

We are pretty particular about the pictures we take – after all, we are showing off New Zealand and we want everyone to see how beautiful it is here.

However, we’re not too fussy about the pictures we get back again – we figure it’s about the love, not the location.

We’ve got people’s pets holding up signs, pictures taken from dorm windows, and unlike the many chasing unicorns (hard to get places like the Eiffel Tower, Egypt etc), we’re just happy to see our little love story making it’s way around the world.

If you want to know more, or if you’d like to join in on the madness, check us out on Facebook: Emmy & Me – we have links up for our brand new New Zealand Only group, and a link to one of the big international pages we use too.
