Composter. Composting can be a fun stem activity. Instead of
being told what kinds of trash goes where, understanding how
nature’s leftovers eventually break down and turn into fertilizer
is a much better way to motivate kids to be part of the healing
process for our planet. Make your child the composter and have
her be in charge of collecting leftover apple cores, banana peels
and any other of nature’s wrappers in a compost bin, especially
after meals.
Ambulator. An ambulator is someone who coordinates walking
opportunities for the family. Let your child come up activities
on the weekend that won’t involve driving, or help her seek out
everyday opportunities where the family can substitute walking
or biking with driving.
