Full STEAM ahead at the Girls Middle School!

Few of the specific STEAM and Innovative initiatives include:

- 6th grade Eco Challenge

- Annual Math/Physics Olympics

- 2nd year partiipation in NASA’s Cubes In Space program.

- Canadian Space Agency, Tomato Sphere project, growing tomatoes from seeds

that went into space and collecting data on their germination and growth rates.

- Nationally and internationally ranked robotics teams.

- 3D printing and design incorporated into Science, with atomic and cellular

models and Art with furniture and housing designs

- Mobile maker carts appeared allowing classes to use hands on learning.

- Host and major sponsor of Exploraton – a career expo for girls.

- TEDx Event: 4th year, the Girls Middle School sponsored an independently

organized TEDx event focused on “youth” with the theme of Empathy.

Advocacy for Educating Girls

- Active member of the National Coalition of Girls Schools, (NCGS). The Director of Strategic Marketing visited the campus in April 2017 to see the school in action.

- Relationship with Namtenga, Burkina Faso, Africa continues with fund raising for scholarships for girls to attend school.
