Not entirely unlike the “cocktails”—frozen cher-
ry-cola swirls with a boozy topper—we used
to concoct at our local 7-Eleven parking lot
during my high school years in Miami, but the
addition of citrus and bitters brighten this
frosty throwback and give it a little backbone.
CHEERWINE LUSHIE

1 ½ oz. bourbon
½ tsp. aromatic bitters
12 oz. (1 bottle) Cheerwine, frozen into cubes*
¼ oz. lime juice
Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth.
Garnish with a lime wheel.
*I use silicone ice cube trays to freeze sticky ingredients.
I find they release a lot easier than metal or plastic.
